So beautiful. I'm really looking forward to reading your conversations with creatives in the field of fashion and hearing your take (wise and funny, as always) <3

Hundreds, maybe thousands, of interviews with entrepreneurs and artists are published daily. I find the most value in those that are in-depth and detailed, like these four conversations. What stands out most is the thoughtfulness of the questions and the honesty and vulnerability in the responses. Side note—reading an interview rather than listening to it felt refreshing. Thank you for being here, Miranda.

this is so great there is so much i wish to learn from you so much love for you thank you for sharing your voice and thoughts with us and going for it as far as sharing as a writer. your quote from hoffman is making me think of something i am learning in a book i am reading about designing for belonging, that ideally we want to create and facilitate beautiful endings as part of community processes

Oh I love that!!! The concept that we should acknowledge and anticipate these inevitable endings so we can navigate them with awareness and grace is a beautiful one. I am chomping at the bit for our conversation and always appreciate the profound insights that you bring to the fashion space (and all spaces for that matter) <3 <3 <3

Miranda- I wear the old and beautiful remnants from your past life as a fashion maven. How I love how the silk and the colors make me feel; revelry is woven into the fabric. We seem to be in a liminal space with no language and yet the dreams come and reminders flicker: we are in a time of profound shifting. I did a foolish thing with a late-in-life gender transition and yet it was the only thing that I could do. Mary Oliver reminds:

"and there was a new voice

which you slowly

recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do—

determined to save

the only life you could save."

But, knowing this does not pay the bills, and therein lies the rub. It is almost built into the process that we must struggle and grapple with the rudiments and learn to live within and to metabolize the ever-present now. That is a hard fluency to acquire, but your words remind me that I am among my people and your lovely silks whisper: grace is everywhere, and She will not die. Love and blessings, Sheila Grace

Sheila! I will be printing this comment out, etching it in stone and re-reading it everyday. Your words are so profoundly beautiful and sum it all up so exquisitely (with a Mary Oliver bonus round no less!). You were such a beacon in the MBS days and your words and presence here are no less meaningful, no less full of buoyant hope, bravery, and understanding. You are definitely among your people, and I am honored and grateful to be shoulder to shoulder with you, xoxoMB
